Good divers are always learning. There is no better way to increase your comfort, safety and fun than by taking SSI Continuing Education courses.  Under the guidance of a skilled instructor you will increase your knowledge, skills and abilities all while have fun!

SSI's Continuing Education (ConEd) Ratings have the highest requirements in the industry. They are not courses perse; rather, they are flexible requirements, that can be met in a variety of ways, allowing you to personalize your continuing education path toward advanced ratings.

Start you advanced training today:

- Take an SSI Specialty Course to gain specialized diving skills
- SSI Specialty Divers have completed 2 Specialty Courses and logged 12 dives
- SSI Advanced Open Water Divers have completed 4 Specialty Courses and logged 24 dives
- SSI Master Divers are Advanced Open Water Divers who have completed Stress & Rescue and have logged 50 dives

Most Speciality Courses Count Toward Advanced Open Water!

Specialty Course - Further develop your knowledge and skills through Continuing Education Specialty Courses like Boat Diving, Computer Diving, Deep Diving, Dry Suit Diving, Enriched Air NITROX, Equipment Techniques, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility Diving, Search & Recovery, Underwater Photography, Waves, Tides & Currents, and Wreck Diving. Learning is easy. You can purchase SSI Specialty manuals and videos from your SSI Authorized Dealer. Then enroll in a specialty course, because it is recommended that you practice specialized scuba skills with an SSI Advanced Instructor. With every Specialty course you take, you are simultaneously earning  credit toward higher levels of SSI Diver Ratings. Combine Specialty Courses with Levels of Experience to earn Advanced Ratings like Specialty Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Master Diver and Century Diver.

Feel Safer in the Water and be Able to Help Others!Diver Stress and Rescue - Diver Stress & Rescue is the next course recommended after Open Water Diver, because it helps you gain confidence and makes you a better buddy. You will learn the signs of stress, and how to deal with stress in yourself and other divers before the dive, during the dive and after the dive. You will learn skills and techniques to help you and other divers prevent and overcome common stressors associated with diving. You will also learn self aid and buddy aid skills for potentially stressful and/or rescue situations. You will learn about how your equipment can help you to stay relaxed and enjoy every dive, what equipment is required in various rescue situations and how to use your equipment properly in the event of a rescue.

A Specialty Diver is Half-Way to Advanced Open Water!Specialty Diver - Level 2 - This is SSI's Intermediate Diver Rating.  Higher than any other agency's advanced courses. Earn Specialty Diver status by completing two Specialty Courses and reaching 12 logged dives.

Become More Comfortable, Go for AOW!Advanced Open Water Diver-Level 3 - SSI's Advanced Diver rating stands alone in the industry with the highest combination of diving knowledge and experience.  No other agency's advanced diver level compares.  Earn Advanced Open Water Diver status by completing 4 Specialty Courses and reaching 24logged dives.  Specialty Divers can earn Advanced Open Water Diver status by completing two additional Specialty Courses and reaching 24 logged dives.

Now We are Talking!Master Diver - Level 4 - SSI's Master Diver rating is one of the most elite ratings in diving toady.  Divers that have completed this level have combined the knowledge, skills and experience to truly call them selves Master Divers.  An SSI Master Diver has completed Stress & Rescue Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver and logged 50 dives.

That's a Lot of Dives and Experience!Century Diver - Level 5 - Recognition of an SSI Diver who has logged 100 or more dives.
